  1. 植物名。仙人掌科仙人掌属，常绿肉质灌木。高约二公尺。茎多节，椭圆形或倒卵状长椭圆形，扁平而肥厚，深绿色。叶退化为小针形。花无梗，着生于顶端者，常开放　成盘状，黄红色。原产于南美洲，现分布广泛，不限于热带。
  2. 汉武帝为承接天上甘露所打造的铜器。形如仙人以手掌擎盘状。
  3. 山名。陝西省华阴县太华山的东峰。峰侧留有形似手掌的痕迹，据说为黄河河神以手擘开山峰以利河水通过所留。
