gǔwényùndòng
cultural movement aspiring to study and emulate classic works, at different periods of history, esp. Tang and Song

CEDICT

唐韩愈、柳宗元等，反对唐初骈俪的文风，力主文以载道之说，欲以先秦、两汉的散文代替骈文，宋欧阳修等继之，遂使古文成为文章正宗，是为古文运动。
