  1. 明白告知，使人領會。《魏書．卷五九．蕭寶夤傳》：「乃請喪居斬衰之服，澄遣人曉示情禮，以喪兄之制，給其齊衰，寶夤從命。」也作「曉喻」、「曉諭」。
  2. 布告。《水滸傳．第四回》：「你須不瞎，也見庫局裡貼的曉示：『但凡和尚破戒吃酒，決打四十竹篦，趕出寺去。』」也作「曉字」。
