轮流调换。《旧唐书．卷九七．张说传》：「旬日，得精兵一十三万人，分繫诸卫，更番上下，以实京师，其后彍骑是也。」《聊斋志异．卷三．夜叉国》：「项下各挂明珠一串，更番出门。」也作「更迭」。
