植物名。棕櫚科海棗屬，常綠喬木。原產於非洲及小亞細亞一帶。株高約二十三公尺，樹冠由羽狀葉構成。葉片狹長，花是單性，雌雄異株，果實通常為長圓形。形狀、大小、顏色、質地、果肉的黏度，因栽培條件不同而差異很大。
