男女一方或双方已有配偶而发生不正当的性行为。《初刻拍桉惊奇．卷三一》：「从沉公做脚，赛儿、正寅通姦，妖法惑众，扰害地方情由，说了一遍。」《老残游记．第一五回》：「他嫂子贾魏氏与人通姦，用毒药谋害一家十三口性命。」也作「通奸」。
