鹦鹉学人说话。《景德传灯录．卷二八．越州大珠慧海和尚》：「僧问：『何故不许诵经，唤作客语？』师曰：『如鹦鹉只学人言，不得人意：经传佛意，不得佛意而但诵，是学语人，所以不许。』」后以鹦鹉学舌比喻人云亦云，搬嘴弄舌。
