植物名。五加科人參屬，多年生宿根草本。主根肥大，形狀像人，故稱為「人參」。葉為掌狀複葉，花小色白。果實扁圓形。根和葉都可入藥，有滋補作用。我國東北、韓國、美國、日本為著名產地。種類繁多，以野生品種最為珍貴，其色紅者稱為「血參」。其根也稱為「人參」，味甘，微苦。自古即為補血、強壯、興奮之藥。有中樞興奮、利尿、鎮靜及驅風的功效。也作「人蔘」、「玉精」。
