  1. 一种曲艺。以韵文演唱故事，其间夹有说白，常有三弦、板鼓及响板伴奏。流行很广，遍及全国。常与地区方言、曲调相结合，而有不同的名称。
  2. 乐器名：(1)中式大鼓，木製鼓框，中部略宽，成桶型。两面蒙牛皮或羊皮，鼓面直径约一百公分，两面皆可击打。演奏时，悬在木製的三脚架上，用于戏曲、歌舞或独奏。(2)西式大鼓，构造和小鼓一样，体积较大，无响弦装置，直径约四十公分。鼓槌以毡毛、毛片、布或皮革包扎而成。演奏时，挂在胸前，或放于鼓架上。原只用于军乐中，后来才用于管弦乐上。
