植物名。茄科茄屬，多年生草本。原產於南美智利。地上莖高六十至七十公分，羽狀複葉；夏日，梢上抽花梗，分枝開白色或淡紫色花。地下塊莖也稱為「馬鈴薯」，形圓如馬鈴，含豐富澱粉，味甘美，歐美人以為主要食物，我國多用作蔬菜佐食，亦可稱為「山藥蛋」、「洋芋」。
